Rightwing Extremism

Are you pro-life? Do you have anti-immigration views? Do you believe in (and teach) end-time prophecies? If you can answer yes to any of these questions you may be considered a “threat” by the United States government. Yes, the very same government that just took your 2008 tax return has issued a statement that warns law enforcement officials that “right-wing extremists” are a potential threat.

Not too much to worry about, right? After all you don’t interact with DHS very often. This report was issued to law enforcement agencies all across the nation. How these local and state agencies interpret this document is up to them. The report (as issued by DHS) says that right-wing extremism “may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as abortion or immigration or gender-identity issues.” It also says that many extremists are upset with and/or antagonistic toward the new administration.

The DHS report says factors which enhance the movement are opposition to things such as abortion and same-sex “marriage.” It also says “anti-government conspiracy theories and ‘end times’ prophecies could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition, and weapons.”

I find it interesting that I am hearing from a number of respected Christians that we should consider maintaining a 30 – 60 day supply of non-perishables for our family to live on in the event of a disaster. Respected Christian leaders are being given prophecies of disaster for parts of the United States and now the government issues this report. Nowhere does the report identify “Christians” by name, only by ideology.

More than hurt feelings

WorldNetDaily reported on a US Supreme Court case that the mainstream media “failed to notice” regarding a group of lesbians that are suing the Boy Scouts of America because the Scout code calls for a member “to do [his] duty to God and [his] country … and to keep [himself] morally straight.”

If I have this right, they claim that they were offended that some Scouts were allowed to use certain public facilities in exchange for millions of dollars of improvements that the Scouts made. This group of offended lesbians had never even been to the facilities, was not involved with the Scouts and had not been exposed to the work.

Well, I’m sorry they were offended. I think I will start suing gay and lesbian groups. I am more than offended. I have actual physical distress every time I hear about things like Perez Hilton’s explosive vitriol against Miss California. I’m not getting any younger and these offensive attacks against innocent people who are simply standing up for what they believe makes me ill to my stomach, raises my heart rate and could cause serious damage. I believe that is a much stronger ground for litigation than having some hurt feelings.

Any legitimate lawyer or public interest law firm that would like to take this up for me? I’m sick and tired of the gay and lesbian community screaming their heads off about how straights and Christians are violating their rights when they are the ones who are doing all of the screaming and litigating and pressuring and scamming and hiding. Bashing Carrie Prejean

Okay. Enough is enough. I have been as polite as possible in my previous posts, but now the line has been crossed.  In a recent news report I have discovered that a politician has actually made a death threat against Miss Prejean.  This is not just some guy off the street and it is totally unacceptable. I know that there are many homosexuals in the world who understand that not everyone shares their views. There are only a few (although the number seems to be growing) who are radical.

These few have forcefully pushed legislation through congress and pushed the courts to make laws that are in direct opposition to the stated will of the majority of the population. Time after time, when given a chance to vote, the public has rejected homosexual marriage so the radical gay movements have convinced the courts to take up what should be left to the voters. (Are we still a democracy?)

Now a homosexual British politician has said that he would kill Carrie Prejean. Excuse me! This is illegal even in England. It is not acceptable.  Perez Hilton has said some hateful things, but even he hasn’t crossed this line.

I think that all British citizens should be calling for, not only the resignation of Alan Duncan, but they should be demanding that he be prosecuted to the fullest extent of British law. I know that if a prominent so-called Christian had said that he would kill someone because of their belief that Christian would be in jail this very moment. (Actually a true follower of Christ would not call for a person’s death.)

Let the law stand just for both sides of the debate; otherwise it becomes a tool for injustice and discrimination.

Righteousness Needed No Defense

A recent story in the Persecution Blog caught my attention. Stacey Harp wrote about a Christian who knew where he stood and continued to stand there. It cost him three years in a communist prison. Even in prison he continued to spread the gospel.  (Reminds me of the apostle Paul.)

As I read this I thought about Christians in America. We love to complain about everything while sitting in our comfortable air-conditioned churches waiting for the lost to come to us. We have the freedom to preach the gospel without fear that we will get sent to jail. (Yes I know there are exceptions. They are exceptions, not the rule See the Persecution News page of my web site.) Christians in some countries are actually being killed because they are being Christians rather than just born-again to get to heaven believers. We have these freedoms and mostly we ignore them.

Preaching the gospel is not a job for pastors and clergy. It is the command of Jesus to ALL who would claim that they are following Him.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:15-18) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Matthew 28:18-19) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47)

This is what we are told to do by none other than Jesus Himself. First in our hometowns, counties and states, then to all of the world. It’s a shame that nations evangelized by American missionaries are now sending missionaries to America. Not for training, but to win the lost because America has become a field ripe for harvest, but there are no willing workers.

My point is that we need to remember the example of Miss California who, despite knowing that she would lose the crown, had her eyes on a better crown. Knowing that she would be reviled here, she knew that righteousness needs no defense. The time has arrived when it is not popular to be a Christian. If you stand firm on Biblical principles you will be ridiculed and mocked. Remember that brothers and sisters in other countries stand at the risk of their lives. If we fail to stand now our nation may be the next to have martyrs listed in the Persecution Blog.

ChristianU2uber

The story in WorldNetDaily about a 12 year old boy who was horribly persecuted for stating his belief that  marriage should be between one man and one woman is indeed a heart breaker.

… the boy, known for certain only by his screen name ChristianU2uber, made a series of videos about himself and about his faith for a popular video-sharing website, YouTube, which generated over a million views and tens of thousands of comments.

His video “Gay Marriage – Is It Right or Wrong?”, however, started a fierce backlash from the online community, as harsh and often profane comments poured in ridiculing the boy, calling him names and even calling for the boy’s death.

“Kill Christianity, and then kill yourself,” responded a YouTube community member identified as greenacidfusion.

There are two reasons that this story touched me. One is that the boy was saved from further persecution. The gay community has once again shown their belief that “free speech” means “shut up and let us talk.” Even if I didn’t have Biblical reasons for opposing gay marriage I would oppose it based on their attitudes. A very loud and obnoxious group wants to be heard but they won’t allow anyone else the same privilege. I’m sorry folks, but it works both ways.

The second reason  that this story touched me was that it is a tale of a Christian standing up for his strongly held belief. I’m sorry to say that this time the liberals won the battle. They succeeded in silencing the witness. No, I do not think that this or any other 12 year old should be exposed to the hateful, acidic vitriol that some in the gay community are known for pouring upon anyone who exercises his right to free speech. This time I think that they have gone too far. Really; death threats against a 12 year old boy? That’s insane. I wonder how many of those caustic bloggers are going to stand trial under the new hate crimes laws? After all, they were really pouring out the hate against someone for taking an ideological stand. Or do the hate crime laws only work one way?

Am I rambling? Okay, I’m “upset” about this incident, and all of the recent anti-Christian ranting that I have heard. Miss California answered a staged question in a rational, kind fashion only to get blasted and torched for her faith. Not once did I hear anyone suggest that Mr. Hilton be brought up on hate crime charges. Why? Christians are going to answer in a manner that is mild, kind and Christ-like. (See my blog on Christians in name only). This doesn’t mean that we have to allow ourselves to walked on, beaten up and thrown away. The gay community has forced new laws protecting people based on gender  preferences. Well I have a “straight” gender preference and the hate that comes from some of the blogs that I have seen lately are prosecutable. They wanted these new laws now they are going to have to live with them.

‘Gay’ advocates attack those who don’t support cause

Filed under: Discrimination,Gays,Sanctity of marriage,Walking in truth — Rev. Tim Lehmann @ 2:06 pm

The following are messages received by Christians who sponsored or backed programs encouraging children to stay away from school during the “Day of Silence”:

  • “My wish for you is that your children grow up to hate you.”
  • “The Pharisees are saving a seat in hell for you and yours.”
  • “You are bigots; your beliefs are off-the-scale whacko nonsense. People are sick and tired of religious bullying and harassment, and you had better expect people to stand up and say so.”

These came in after the event:

  • “I would welcome the day that world no longer has use for hateful, backward and ignorant people like you.” It came with a casket photo.
  • “We are no longer tolerant of bigotry for the sake of being tolerant. Instead, we name it and shame it. Karen England is a stupid bigot. There, I said it. Come and get me, you stupid cow.”
  • “I do not have to tolerate bigotry which is based on ignorance, prejudice and irrational fear.”
  • “I’m sorry but anyone that is that cruel, closed minded and filled with that much hatred for another human being is the true ‘abomination to GOD.’”
  • “In messages from Day of Silence supporters, staff members at Capitol Resource Institute and another pro-family organization are called ‘bigot,’ ‘disgusting,’ ‘evil spawn,’… Sounds ’bout right to me.”
  • “KKKristianity must be abolished.”

Some of these came in with pictures that I won’t publish here. The full article, including pictures and videos, can be seen here. Now if you have been keeping up with my commentaries you know that I believe that not everyone who uses the name is really a Christian.  Many claim to be doing the work of the Lord, but in the end He will say to them, “I don’t know who you are. Go away from me, you violators of my law.” (Matthew 7.23) I say this because there are people out there that, in the name of Christianity, spread hatred and malice. This is not from God. God is love. He loves everyone so much that He gave Himself as a sacrifice so that everyone that believes in Him can be saved. (John 3.16)

I have said it before and I will say it again: God hates sin, not the sinner. Repent of your sin and God will accept you into His family as if you had never sinned. He will cast your sin to the bottom of the ocean. In fact, Jesus has already paid the penalty for your sin.

About those messages. First: To all of the gay organizations. Do not blame all Christians for what a few people using the name are doing. Do you want us to blame all gays for the illegal, hateful messages that a few gay radicals are spreading? Of course not.

Second: Christ (and His followers), does not hate you. Yes, God opposes your behavior. Homosexuality is one of the few specific behaviors pointed out in the Bible that God detests. The apostle Paul says that those who practice this sin, among others, will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. He goes on to say that many of those to whom he was writing used to commit these sins but they have been purified and put right by Jesus and the Spirit of God.

Third: God wants to forgive you and set you free from the bondage. Many gays believe that they are born gay. That’s a lie straight from the devil. Remember that Satan is a liar and the father of all lies, and he has lied to you about your nature. Homosexuality is against the way you were created by God. It is bondage and you can be freed from these chains.

To become free all you have to do is ask God to forgive you. This means that you must acknowledge that you are in sin. While you were not born gay, you were born in sin. All of mankind since Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden is born in sin. And since then you have committed sins. Even the smallest lie is a sin and the sin condemns you. We all deserve eternal death and punishment. But God loves all of us so much that He made a way to provide for our freedom. That way is Jesus. (Romans 3.23, 6.23) Honestly and humbly ask Him to be your Savior and He will. Honestly and humbly ask Him to forgive your sins, and He will. Honestly and humbly ask Him to set you free and He will. It is written, “He whom the Son set free, is free indeed.” Do you want to be free? Freedom is yours for the asking.

Miss California and Perez Hilton

Filed under: Discrimination,Sanctity of marriage,Walking in truth — Rev. Tim Lehmann @ 5:18 pm

See Fox News report Miss California Sparks Furor With Gay Marriage

What a testimony to her faith. I applaud Carrie Prejean for her standing fast for what she believes. What a shame that Mr. Hilton would respond by saying that was the “worst answer in pageant history” then calling her names. Ms. Prejean answered the question posed by the judge in a mild, rational manner. The judge responded in a hateful, irrational manner. It seems that Mr. Hilton should not have asked the question.

Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, asked Miss California if she believed in gay marriage. Why this was relevant to the Miss USA contest, I’m not sure. She responded, “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

My comment to Ms. Prejean: Way to go, girl. Stand for your beliefs. You were articulate, calm and peaceful. You stated your belief. My Hilton couldn’t counter your faith or your peace so he was reduced to name-calling and flame throwing. Keep standing firm on the Rock. Yes, it’s entirely probable that your answer was the reason that you received runner up rather than first place. Even Donald Trump agrees. You did the right thing and heaven knows all that we go through for His namesake. Our prayers are with you.

Mr. Hilton, we are also praying for you. Jesus paid a tremendous price to win your freedom from the bondage of sin. It is my prayer that you will one day acknowledge that your sins can be forgiven and go to God in repentance.

Hate Crime or Censorship?

On June 9th, (2008) WorldNetDaily reported that a Christian pastor was ordered by a Canadian tribunal to apologize for a statement he made relating to same-sex marriage. The statement was made based on the pastor’s belief should be protected as “free speech” and “religious freedom”. Instead the tribunal all but ordered the pastor to renounce his faith in the Bible, since they are requiring him to renounce his statement. He was also fined $5000 and ordered to “cease publishing in newspapers, by e-mail, on the radio, in public speeches, or on the Internet, in future, disparaging remarks about gays and homosexuals. Further, they shall not and are prohibited from making disparaging remarks in the future …”. This same tribunal also charged a Catholic priest with “hate crime” relating to his teaching on homosexuality. Father Alphonse de Valk defended the Catholic church’s teaching on marriage during Canada’s same-sex ‘marriage’ debate, quoting extensively from the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Pope John Paul II’s encyclicals. Each of these documents contains official Catholic teaching.

Now here’s the question: Does the nation of Canada now consider morality and teaching from the Bible to be “Hate Crime?” Here’s another question: If this is happening in Canada, how long will it take before it starts in the U.S.? Millions of people throughout the world consider that marriage should be between a man and a woman. These are Catholic and non-Catholic, Christian, Jew, Muslim and atheist. Are these millions of people at risk of becoming victims of a legal system that has gone over the liberal edge?

What do you think? Is there anything we can (or should) do?

Evangelical Christians viewed as ‘possible threats’ by US Department of Homeland Security
