Judgement

Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God. (1 Corinthians 4:5 ESV)

It is a sad thing when Christians judge and condemn other believers. We look at what we can see as flesh and blood humans, and make our assessment of situations when we know nothing at all about what the person is going through. Sometimes it’s something as small as thinking a person could make better use of their time, especially when talking about how they are serving God. Maybe the individual is doing exactly what God has told them to do, yet we say they could do more. I have been in situations where I knew I could do more but the Holy Spirit has stopped me because He wanted me right where I was. Maybe later yo will out why, but sometimes we don’t find out.

Sometimes we judge how someone is living, or dressing or whether or not they wear makeup and jewelry. Understand, I’m not talking about someone living in sin. In that case we are to help our brother (or sister) to overcome and repent from the sin. Someone who is continually in a sinful life may indeed need to actually accept Christ. Even if they call themselves a Christian. Help them, pray for them and most of all love them. Just like Jesus does.

There will be a day of judgment where all believers will stand before the throne (Romans 14.11-12) but today is not that day and we are not the Judge.
